the mantel show
May 1 - May 31 2025
This inaugural group show will feature handmade three-dimensional works perfect for displaying on a mantel, shelf, or tabletop. Support an artist while enhancing your home with a unique handmade piece.
Information for artists
the mantel show offers you the chance to display your work in a retail setting in the inner-city suburb of Forest Lodge in Sydney. Sarah Nolan, the owner of BRANCH3D, will curate the group show. Sarah's background is as a graphic designer, artist, art teacher to young children and a secondhand dealer in vintage and retro wares. She operated a vintage shop in the space 2015 through to 2023, specializing in ceramics and planters. Before the shop, she ran a window gallery where artists presented their installations to an unsuspecting audience each month. Please visit the Exhibition page and the Instagram account to view past displays and shows.
the mantel show will be open for viewing to the public 24/7 through the window, and for walk-ins on Saturdays, possibly some Fridays. There are no fees for submitting your work proposal; a commission of 25% will be taken on any sales. All profits will be donated to The Nature Conservation Council, which supports community groups fighting to save the environment of NSW.
Between 100-120 works will selected for the final show.
