EXHIBITIONS    JENNY SNOWDON: Memento

12.11.12 to 01.12.12

Space is infinite, space is clear. Space is the three-dimensional environment in which all matter exists. Space is time. Space is surrounding. Space is within. Space separates. Space keeps apart. Space brings together. Space is direction. Space is position. Space is structure, material and fabric. Space is conceptual. Space is an empty shell, a blank canvas, only meaningful if thought of, noticed, taken care of and used. Space can be permeated with purpose, efficiency, comfort, aesthetics and memories. Space listens, changes and adapts. Space tells a story. Space reflects. You.

Memento, a reminder of the past, a keepsake.

Remember something?

Memento is an installation that reflects space and time. As seconds pass, future becomes present, present becomes past. Moments are captured in our memory. Just like a snapshot on film defines a particular moment within that sequence, our memories define us as a person and shape our future.

Take a second.

Mirrored perspex and recycled film.
