EXHIBITIONS    DARMODY & THORNE: Rhopos

19.05.13 to 15.06.13

Rhopos is an installation intersecting the shared language of suspended plastic objects and works on paper. Susannah Thorne has constructed a series of hanging 'capsules' by dismembering and sewing discarded plastic bottles. An uncommon interest is given to everyday objects including teeth, condoms and beads through their entrapment within the transparent layers. Theresa Darmody has responded with works on paper in which she has allowed the codes and practices of Knitting to dictate the line drawn with ink and knitting needle. In this window installation the familiar and commonplace are reconfigured into a cabinet of curiosities.
