The post World War 11 modernist domestic dream floundered and lost ground first to the irony of post-modernism and then finally to the aspirational promises of the McMansion. But bigger is not always better, something we are coming to terms with in this 21st Century age of sustainability.


Pipe Dreams is about reminding us that lessons of midcentury modernism- modesty of scale, modularity, repetition, psychological extension of space, inside/outside connection, the built-in, innovative use of materials and a limited palette can go a long way to creating new and far more sustainable domestic dreams...
